Jason Large was born on a cold winter day in Rupert, Idaho. He never lived there, but that’s a long story.

He grew up in a few different places, but mainly remembers his childhood in Boise. There was lots of time outdoors, riding bicycles, climbing trees, playing soccer and pretending to be Han Solo.

After high school Jason went to art school in San Francisco. He also went to Florence, Italy for a year where he got to study the work of Renaissance masters and even learned how to paint frescoes. He’s never painted a fresco since. He returned to Boise and got a degree.

After that, Jason sold some paintings, and did some other jobs before deciding he needed more schooling. He went to England this time. He got another degree and returned to Boise.

He went to South Korea for a year, but not for school, and then returned to Boise. He had a son and started his own screen printing business, designed and printed shirts for several years, then took a job printing for someone else. During that time, he forgot about making art.

Now he is making art again, and has no plans to ever stop. He and his son draw on walls at home. He would love to illustrate stories that help people see their connection with the world and those around them.
